BUCKET CREEK FALLS |
||
| RATING - 4/10 TYPE OF APPROACH - Trail DIFFICULTY - Medium LOCATION - Stettatle Creek Trail TYPE - Tiered HEIGHT - 35' WIDTH - 10' |
Bucket Creek drops over this gorgeous 2-stepped waterfall just upstream from the Stetattle Creek Trail. The falls drop about 25' and then 10' over back-to-back fan shaped drops. The rocks around the falls are covered with moss and absolutely beautiful. Continuing along the trail, you will reach Midway Falls and Camp Dayo Falls, just past the end of the maintained trail (I didn't make it to this one). |
|
| DIRECTIONS - Drive
east along Highway 20 through the town of Newhalem. A few miles east of town, stay
left towards the small town of Diablo when the highway heads right over Gorge Lake.
The road goes over Stetattle Creek right away. Park at the pullout and head along
the trail on the left side of the road. Bucket Creek Falls is around 2.5 miles along
the trail on the first large creek. Scramble upstream a hundred feet or so to a
clear view. NEARBY WATERFALLS - Midway Falls |
