GORGE CREEK FALLS

RATING - 6/10

TYPE OF APPROACH - Roadside

DIFFICULTY - Very Easy

LOCATION - Newhalem Area

TYPE - Tiered

HEIGHT - 242'

WIDTH - 10'

This is a nice falls that is located on Highway 20 between Newhalem and Winthrop.  The falls occur where Highway 20 crosses about 200' above Gorge Creek.  The area is well signed and is a great little rest stop on the way to the east side of the mountains.  During normal water levels, the upper section of the falls is somewhat difficult to see but when the creek is running high (like the picture here) the falls can be seen fairly well.
DIRECTIONS - Gorge Creek Falls is located about 3 miles east of Newhalem along Highway 20.  Park at the well signed lot and walk across the bridge for a really nice view of the falls and the impressive gorge way below the bridge.

NEARBY WATERFALLS - Ketchum Creek Falls, Ladder Creek Falls, Newhalem Falls
