HALL CREEK FALLS

RATING - 5/10

TYPE OF APPROACH - Bushwhack

DIFFICULTY - Difficult

LOCATION - Ollalie State Park Area

TYPE - Horsetail

HEIGHT - 135'

WIDTH - 20'

Hall Creek Falls is a really unique waterfall.  Hall Creek drops over a 40' plunge before sliding down the mountainside in a long curving horsetail at a rather low 30 degree angle.  When my waterfall hunting buddy Tony and I went to the falls we had absolutely horrid sunlight but were able to get the first photographs of the falls from the base that I'm aware of.  We also saw several mountain goats on the cliffs above the creek so that was a nice bonus.  There are several small falls located below the main drop that are pretty nice as well.  This one may be pretty tough to get to, but it is worth the effort.  It should be possible to walk up the side of the falls for a better view of the upper section, something I will do on my next trip.
DIRECTIONS - Follow the directions to Change Creek Falls.  Hall Creek is the next creek east.  Walk east past where Hall Creek goes under the road and find a trail heading upstream.  Follow this until it ends at the lower falls of Hall Creek.  From there you're on your own.   Head upstream anyway you can to the main falls.
