TYLER FALLS |
||
| RATING - 1/10 TYPE OF APPROACH - Roadside DIFFICULTY - Very Easy LOCATION - Lake Whatcom Area TYPE - Tiered HEIGHT - 70' WIDTH - 10' |
Tyler Falls occurs on a very small stream around Lake Louise. While small, the falls are exceptionally scenic. They start with a 30' segmented plunge, immediately follow by a 10' horsetail. The middle section runs through a little slot before dropping over a perfectly shaped fan. Finally the creek dumps over a finally drop around 12' tall and then runs down under the road. Seeing the upper sections of the falls requires a little scrambling around but nothing too difficult. I've named this one after John Tyler, our 10th president. | |
| DIRECTIONS - Take
the Alger exit from I-5 between Burlington and Bellingham. Head east along Cain Lake
Road through Alger and go straight at the intersection with Old Highway 99. After a
few miles the road will intersect with Lake Whatcom Road. Turn left. Tyler
Falls are found a short distance north of here and can be seen through the trees on the
left side of the road. It's harder to spot the falls coming from the north. NEARBY WATERFALLS - Austin Creek Falls, Prospector Falls, Reveille Falls, Trataka Falls, Wildwood Cascades |
