UPPER WALLACE FALLS |
||
| RATING - 7/10 TYPE OF APPROACH - Trail DIFFICULTY - Fairly Difficult LOCATION - Gold Bar Area TYPE - Tiered HEIGHT - 260' WIDTH - 30' |
|
Upper Wallace Falls is nearly as impressive as the Middle Falls downstream. The falls drops over a 50' plunge into a nice little pool before dropping once again around 200'. If a better view of these Upper Falls were available it would probably jump up to 5 drop rating. The picture on the left was taken with a crappy disposable camera. I haven't had a chance to make a return to the park with a good camera but I'm hoping to soon. |
| DIRECTIONS - Drive
east on Highway 2 from Monroe to Gold Bar and follow the signs to the parking lot.
Follow the trail to the falls. You can actually take two different routes. The
left fork is longer and not as steep as the right. The Upper Falls are reached in
about 2 1/2 miles with the trail climbing much steep on its approach to the Upper Falls. NEARBY WATERFALLS - Lower Wallace Falls, Middle Wallace Falls |
