| RATING - 9/10 TYPE - Segmented HEIGHT - 500' WIDTH - 100' |
TYPE OF APPROACH - Bushwhack DIFFICULTY - Extremely Difficult LOCATION - Middle Fork Nooksack Road NEARBY WATERFALLS - Halhomish Falls, Lower Wallace Creek Falls |
| DIRECTIONS - Head east on the Mt. Baker Highway and turn south onto Mosquito Lake Road. Soon you will drive through the community of Happy Valley. Just after leaving that area, turn left onto Middle Fork Road. At around 4 miles the road splits. Take the left hand fork uphill. In another mile, turn left onto a very rough road heading steeply uphill. Follow the road to its end. From here, the falls are about 2 miles upstream but it's very, very rough going. | It's a shame that this waterfall is so difficult to get to because it's an amazing waterfall that anyone would like to see. The falls occur where two forks of Warm Creek drop over a massive cliff face on the southwest side of Mt. Baker and combine at the bottom. My estimate of 500' is just an eyeball figure and could be off by quite a bit either way. The area around the falls is very rugged with dense brush all around. As you can see from my picture, it was very cloudy on my trip in so my picture taking was very limited. |
